Happy Mother’s Day
This week in our Wonders program we will focus on the Essential Question of: How can we work together to make our lives better? We will be reading and talking about ways people can work together. This is a perfect connection to what we have discovered at school - - it is much more fun to work with a friend to accomplish a task. Teamwork makes the job easier and better. Our spelling words will be various spellings of the “u” sound: moon tune, flew, blue, fruit, soup. This will be tricky because there are no patterns to follow. Our sight words are: enough, door - - with exposure to: answer, brought, busy, eyes. We have been gearing up over the last few weeks for our Open House on Thursday. Your children are excited to share how they have worked together to create Wish Flags for the entire school. Wish Flags were sent home last week with every child so that you could create a family wish together. Many flags have come back - - if you still have your Wish Flag at home, please work with your child to create your family flag and return it to school on Monday. All of the Wish Flags will be sewn together and hung on the Wish House which will be displayed in our garden. A wonderful representation of New Boston working together! At Thursday’s Open House (May 17th) you will be able to see – and possibly locate – your Wish Flag. The activities for the evening start at 5:30 in the classroom. Our Integrated Arts team has worked together to create a wonderful evening for you - - songs, movements activities, and artwork. Our field trip to Odiorne Point is on Monday, May 21st. If you have not returned the permission slip, please do so on Monday. This is a fun-filled day. Be sure to check the information that was sent home concerning what to wear...what to bring. VERY IMPORTANT!!! I will be away this Thursday and Friday due to an out-of-state family commitment. Mrs. Kierstead will be here all week providing the continuity, routines, and expectations for the week. I will be checking my emails constantly if you have any questions or concerns.
