Reminder: Our class Zoom is at 9:00 this morning. I wonder who our Mystery Guest will be? We will celebrate summer birthdays and look at this week’s Show and Share items. Good Morning –
We will have another fluency check-in today. Your child’s passage has been assigned in SeeSaw. Keep working on those wonderful Memory Books. I can’t wait to share these amazing projects in our year-end video. Today’s math Zoom will be all about Number Grid Puzzles. Using the number grid to guide us, we are realizing that when we go up and down in the column…we add/subtract by 10’s. When we go right/left…we add/subtract by 1’s. This builds NUMBER SENSE. Two SeeSaw activities have been assigned. Have your child make the choice on which on (or both) they would like to try. Reminder - - Friday’s Class Zoom will be at 9:00 with another Mystery Guest. We will be celebrating three summer birthday’s (Derek, Rory, Walter). On our last day together (June 11th) we will celebrate our last summer birthday (Bentley). Looking ahead to next week: Tuesday: Reading Day We will hear about the summer reading program during a 9:30 Zoom. This Zoom will be a grade level event. When more information becomes available to me, I will send out an email to you. We will also be having our school-wide virtual Drop Everything and Read event in the afternoon. I will have a different Zoom time on this day. Details to follow... Wednesday: Field Day Check out the file attached to today’s assignments. More information to come. Good Morning –
We will continue looking at traditions. Today you will be listening to a wonderful story by Mem Fox. The link is located right in the SeeSaw assignment. Then – you will start creating a Memory Book. This should take your child a few days to complete. They can work on their memories and save as a draft to get back to later. Please stress with your child NOT TO RUSH through this. I will be taking some of the pages from the Memory Book and putting them into our Year End Video. During our Math Zoom we will be comparing 2-digit numbers. Does it make sense to use addition or subtraction to solve these number stories? We will discuss strategies to help us. We will have our last Reading Group today at 10:30. Mrs. Buckley, Mrs. Delisle, and I have loved our weekly get togethers. Just a reminder….Friday’s Class Zoom will be at 9:00 this week due to a meeting that I must attend during our usual time. Thanks for your flexibility. We will be doing another Show and Share. Have your child start thinking about the item they would like to share with their classmates. Good Morning –
Today during our Math Zoom we will be covering a lot of material. As such, we may not be able to get to all the Math Box/Home Link files. Please help your child, if needed, to complete these assignments. Memories….prior to Remote Learning….we did some amazing activities and creating lifelong memories in the classroom. Your child will be creating a poster that highlights their favorite activities. Please upload your completed posters to SeeSaw. I will be collecting all of these posters and put them into another year-end video. Some highlights from the year (in case your child needs help remembering…)
***I have to change this Friday’s Class Zoom at 11:00 due to a meeting. Would you be available at the 9:00 time instead? Please let me know IF THIS DOES NOT WORK FOR YOU. Thanks Good Morning –
This week we will focus on traditions. What are some traditions that take place with your family? Your children will be doing an activity on SeeSaw after reading a Wonders passage. Heads up – tomorrow we will begin a Memory Book activity. This will take your child’s thinking back to our classroom days…as well as some remote learning memories. Math will consist of reviewing important concepts this week: telling time, place value, fractions. Summer Birthdays: We have four birthdays to celebrate over the next week: Bentley: June 11 Walter: July 30 Rory: July 15 Derek: July 3 |
