Last Friday’s two performances with Troy Wunderle were amazing. We were so fortunate to be able to participate in this outstanding Artist in Residence program. Not only did we learn a lot about the circus; but, more importantly, we had a blast. Your children were outstanding monkeys and our chiquita banana played his part perfectly. If you have any pictures from our performances, would it be possible to send them along to me? I'd love to share them with the class.
On Monday we will plant trees. I would suggest that you send your child to school in “old” shoes. With all the rain that we have had, I’m sure there will be a lot of mud. Once we get back to school have another set of shoes available that your child can change into and wear for the remainder of the day. This week with our Wonders program we will focus on the Essential Question of: How do things get built? We will be talking and reading about different structures and how they are built. Our phonics will look at more diphthongs: oi, oy. Our spelling words are: spoil, coin, join, joy, toy, boy Our Sight Words are: build, fall - - with exposure to: above, knew, money, toward. Our grammar focus will be prepositions and prepositional phrases. We will start researching woodland animals. This will be our third, and final, Writing Prompt of the year.
